Formed in 2022 in Scotland's capital, Killerhorns grew out of Edinburgh's underground funk and soul scene. Through a near four-year residency at the city's Jazz Bar, the band honed a reputation for late-night sets designed to keep dance floors moving until the small hours, channeling the raw energy of classic funk and soul rather than the academic reinterpretations often found in modern funk.
Their sound fuses the grooves of James Brown, the spirit of New Orleans soul, and the modern edge of bands like Ghost-Note and Mark Lettieri. Built from professional musicians active across Scotland's wider music scene, Killerhorns have become a fixture of the Edinburgh circuit, consistently drawing strong audiences and developing a loyal cult following at one of the city's most respected venues.
Having completed their debut EP Shiverin', the band are ready to take their music beyond Scotland, with European shows and festivals planned in the year ahead.
